First Day of School

I can't believe it is here and gone already! I think that I was more nervous than Jillian. The first day went really well and Jillian had a fantastic day! So far I feel the right decision has been made.

Kindergarten Already???

For anyone that has children born in the months September- November I am sure you understand the tough decisions that need to be made during their fourth year of life. In California at this time your child may enter Kindergarten as long as they turn five by December 2nd. For some this a very hard decision whether to put them in school or leave them out! Well, Jillian turns five on November 17th so we needed to make the decision. Should she stay or should she go??? Anyone that knows Jillian knows that she has had a vocabulary of a 20 year old since age 2, but she is also very timid to new surroundings. On August 11th Jillian Christine Johnson will be attending Kindergarten at French Valley Elementary! Stay tuned to see if the right decision was made. Jillian is very excited and had a great time seeing her classroom and meeting her new teacher (whom she has known since birth).

Lake Millerton Part 4

Lake Millerton Part 3

More Millerton

Summer fun at Lake Millerton

It had been about 12 years, I think since the Johnson's had been to Lake Millerton. Well boy were we happy to be back. A week of sun, fun, and relaxing. Millerton is the type of place that the longer you are there the more relaxed that you get. Sometimes toward the end of the week you may not even get to the water until 2:00pm and that is ok! This year was no exception! I think at one count there was close to 100 people in our group! Jillian and Brayden had a great time waterskiing for the first time, riding bikes, water balloon fights, and playing with friends. Can't wait until next year!

Jillian's first sleepover...well kinda!

Jillian had been asking for months if Natalie could come over and have a sleepover. Well with school being over Suzanne and I decided to give it a try, a modified version anyway. With Todd working nights and Ben being out of town we decided to have a sleepover with Natalie, Jillian, Brayden, Ally, Suzanne, and myself. The evening started out with make your own pizzas and makeovers. The night ended with one big sleepover in the living room. Maybe next time Suzanne and I will be brave enough to try it for real! :) Great fun had by all!

Happy Camp

Well living in Canyon Lake sometimes has it perks! One that we believe is a total perk is "Happy Camp". Happy Camp is a campground on the lake that can be used by people that live here and their friends. We try to go at least three times a year and June is usually the first. We invite everyone we know and whoever shows up during the week is in for some fun! This June was no exception!

Jillian leaves Preschool

Well after two years at Good Shepherd Preschool it is finally time for my little girl to step out into the big world of elementary school!!!! The time seemed to fly by and was filled with lots of programs, painting, and playing. On this final night the kids sang and were brought to the microphone and asked what they wanted to be when they grow-up. Jillian along with a lot of other young ladies have decided to be mermaids when they grow-up. It was a wonderful night filled with laughter and a few tears (mainly from moms)!

Blueberry Picking

Here in Temecula we have a great farm where you can go and pick your own blueberries. Well like most of the activities that I plan, I had these unrealistic expectations about how the trip would go. I imagined the four of us laughing, picking blueberries that we would later bake in a pie, chatting, and just having a wonderful family time!

Now reality...we got to the blueberry patch with the 60 other families that had the same idea. I didn't realize how hot it can get at a blueberry patch. Brayden took off running down the patch and would not come back and of course Jillian had to go to the bathroom that was about a 1/4 mile away. So most of my time was picking blueberries by myself!

The fifteen minutes that we did spend together was a lot of fun and we did make homemade blueberry cobbler and pancakes! YUM YUM!
